Position Summary:

A New Business Representative requires a broad understanding and knowledge of ELCO’s products and services. This team member builds and maintains superior customer relationships by understanding and assessing the specific needs and customizing service to meet the expectations of our policy owners, producers and internal staff. This information is then used to process new life insurance and annuity contracts as well as the general servicing of our clients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To provide prompt, courteous and accurate customer service including funding, suitability, regulatory issues, policy issuance, policy requirements, illustrations, and customer correspondence by phone, fax and email

  • To follow established operational procedures for processing applications, including transfers and 1035 exchanges

  • To verify that applications are compliant with state and federal regulations and evaluate that incoming documents for validity and completeness

  • Evaluates incoming documents for validity and completeness

  • Communicate tactfully with agents when additional or corrected information is necessary

  • Participate as a team member in problem resolution and projects supporting continuous process improvement

  • Assembly policies for delivery to producers upon completion of the new business process

  • Assist in peer development

  • Stay abreast of and adhere to ELCO processes and procedures, industry changes, federal and state legislation and regulations

  • Stay current with the provisions of new ELCO products

  • Conduct internal audits

  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs

  • LOMA Certifications: ACS & ALMI

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required

  • Demonstrated experience in navigating through complex computer systems (internal computer systems as well as Microsoft Office) with minimal assistance

  • Data entry and customer service experience expected

  • Typing proficiency in Window based computer applications, Microsoft Word & Excel

  • Must be punctual, highly responsible and customer focused
